United Kingdom, Sept. 6 -- Stevie Nicks' brother Christopher has died aged 72.

The singer's younger sibling lost his battle with cancer on Friday (04.09.26), his daughter Nixi announced in a post on Instagram.

Alongside a picture of herself holding Christopher's hand, Nixi wrote: "It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my father, Christopher Aaron Nicks, early this morning, surrounded by family."

She added that while some people were aware that he'd been diagnosed with cancer two and a half years ago, it "may comes as a shock" to others.
