United Kingdom, Oct. 28 -- Reba McEntire broke down in tears on The Voice over her late stepson Brandon Blackstock.

The 70-year-old country singer couldn't hold back her emotions after contestant Aubrey Nicole performed Martina McBride's track I'm Gonna Love You Through It and dedicated it to her cancer survivor dad.

The theme is close to home for Reba after Brandon's death from melanoma at the age of 48 in August and she took some time to compose herself after the performance.

She said: "I lost my oldest son, because he did not win with cancer.

"So that was a real reminder that life goes on, and we sing songs about it, so we can remember the ones that are around us that we love so much and that we lean on at times like this."
