United Kingdom, May 22 -- Prince William is "very proud" of his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales following her trip to Italy.

The 44-year-old royal carried out a two-day visit to the city of Reggio Emilia last week - her first overseas engagement since being diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in 2024 - and William expressed his joy at seeing his wife make a successful return to royal duties on the global stage.

Quizzed on if he was proud of Catherine's visit to Italy, the Prince of Wales told the Heart radio breakfast show: "So proud, very, very proud. She's been amazing.
