United Kingdom, May 18 -- Pete Davidson's friends have rallied around the comedian to insist he is looking after his ex and their baby following reports of his split from Elsie Hewitt.

The comic, 32, who welcomed his daughter Scottie Rose with actress Elsie, 30, in December, are said to have ended their relationship earlier this month following what sources described as ongoing difficulties balancing Pete's work commitments with life as new parents.

Elsie has since shared emotional social media posts about raising their baby daughter largely "on my own", prompting sources quoted by Page Six to jump to Pete's defence.
