United Kingdom, Oct. 13 -- Paris Jackson is "learning to navigate life on life's terms".

The 27-year-old star has previously battled drug and alcohol addiction, but Paris managed to get her life back on track after getting sober.

Speaking at the annual Friendly House Awards Luncheon in Los Angeles, Paris - who was awarded the Shining Star Award for her work with the organisation - explained: "Most of the service work I do is one-on-one.
