United Kingdom, July 6 -- Maya Hawke has bought her first home just a short walk from her mother Uma Thurman's house.

Describing the move as the chance to "put some roots down" after a whirlwind year that included her surprise wedding to musician Christian Lee Hutson, Maya, 27, said she is now living in the same upstate New York community where she grew up while filming a new television adaptation of The God of the Woods.

The actress and singer, whose parents are Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke recently married Christian during a private Valentine's Day ceremony in New York City.
