United Kingdom, July 15 -- Mandy Moore has paid tribute to her mother-in-law Kathy Goldsmith, describing her as the "silver lining" amid the devastating Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year.

The 41-year-old actress - who has children, Gus, four, Oscar, three, and Louise, 10 months, with musician husband Taylor Goldsmith - is "not sure what [she] would have done without" her significant other's mother in the wake of the disaster, during which the This is Us star's home was badly damaged and Kathy lost her abode.
