United Kingdom, April 10 -- Lamar Odom is "completely sober".

The 46-year-old former sports star has opened up about his sobriety journey, revealing that he's benefiting from being "educated on disease".

He told Page Six Radio: "Right now I'm completely sober-I don't even drink alcohol.

"If you do your education, addiction [is where] you suffer from a brain disease, just like cancer or any other disease. I don't think anyone would wish to have cancer."

Lamar, who was arrested and charged with a DUI in Las Vegas in January, added that education has been key to staying sober.

He said: "So, me being educated on disease, the more and more I get educated, the more and more it's easier for me to stay sober."
