United Kingdom, July 24 -- King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived at the Commonwealth Games in Doctor Who's Tardis.

The monarch attended the opening ceremony in Glasgow, Scotland on Thursday (23.07.26) alongside his wife and the royal couple made a spectacular entrance at the city's Hydro arena by stepping out of the old police box featured in the long-running hit sci-fi show.

Their entrance was preceded by a short film in which Olympian Sir Chris Hoy and actor Greg McHugh set about organising transport for the King and Queen and they opted for a Tardis flight.
