United Kingdom, Aug. 13 -- Keri Russell would say no if partner Matthew Rhys proposed on stage at the Emmy Awards.

Back in 2018, Glenn Weiss popped the question to girlfriend Jan Svendsen during the live telecast of the ceremony - with Matthew taking to the stage minutes later to accept his Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for The Americans.

During an interview with Variety, Matthew admitted he got some "heat" for "s******* on that guy's moment", but long-time partner Keri insisted of the proposal: "Do it on your own time, man! For me to have to do anything public is horrifying."

Asked what she would do if Matthew had been the one proposing to her, Keri replied: "I would die. I would say no. Good night!"
