United Kingdom, April 27 -- Jonah Hill wants to "be funny again" after not being "as happy" before becoming a father.

The 42-year-old actor - whose most recent major movies were the likes of 2021's Don't Look Up and You People two years later - is ready to step back into the limelight, and he feels like he's in a better place.

Speaking during a live recording of the SmartLess podcast over the weekend, he said: "I've been gone for a while, so I'm kind of coming back and I'm like excited because I got all, like, serious for a while and I wasn't as happy.

"And then I had my family and I got happy, and now all I want to do is be funny again. That's why I said yes [to being on SmartLess].

"I'm, like, I want to go f****** be funny in front ...
