United Kingdom, April 13 -- JoJo Siwa reveals how golf has helped her get closer to her father.

The 22-year-old former child star, who rose to fame on Dance Moms, has insisted while some people might expect people in her position to "fall out" with their parents, she has seen the opposite happen as she's grown up with Tom and Jessalynn.

She told PEOPLE magazine: "It's interesting. I feel like a lot of times, people expect child stars and their parents to kind of fall out over time, [but] my parents and I, we've only gotten closer.

"I've recently taken up golf, which has brought me very close to my dad."
