United Kingdom, Oct. 10 -- Jennifer Lopez has urged Super Bowl viewers to give Bad Bunny "a chance".

The Puerto Rican rapper has been chosen as the headline act for the NFL showpiece game next February but has faced criticism because he performs in his native Spanish and now the On the Floor hitmaker - who co-headlined the event with Shakira in 2020 - has come to his defence and insisted Bad Bunny's lack of English lyrics "doesn't matter".

Speaking on CBS Mornings, she said: "Music and art transcends language. It doesn't matter. He's done that probably more than anybody of any generation.

"The Super Bowl is great because it introduces you to people that don't know you. I'm sure there was people that didn't know me or Shakira or weren't...
