United Kingdom, April 14 -- Jennie Garth has recalled the devastating moment she knew her marriage to Peter Facinelli was over.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star and the Twilight actor were married from 2001 until 2013, and Jennie will never forget a brutally honest message from their couple's counselling therapist that made her realise she and Peter had to go their separate ways.

Speaking on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, she said: "We sat down and honestly two minutes into it she said, 'Jenny, why would you want to love someone when they don't love you? Why would you love someone when they don't love you? Why would you love someone who doesn't love you?'

"Like, it's echoing, I'll never forget it...That just gutted me. And ...
