Courtney Love 'didn't have the social skills' for fame
United Kingdom, Sept. 18 -- Courtney Love has struggled to cope with the pressures of fame and success.
The 62-year-old star rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Hole, which she formed in 1989 - but Courtney admits that she wasn't comfortable in the spotlight.
She told Interview magazine: "This thing about being famous and just the impetus, I didn't have the guts for it. I didn't have the social skills or the infrastructure.
"I hadn't gone to school, I didn't know how to make friends with people very well."
Courtney still has vivid memories of touring the world in the early 90s, when she was left to fend for herself by her record label.
