United Kingdom, Feb. 25 -- Christian Bale appears to have confirmed he will join the cast of Heat 2.

Released in 1995, the original Heat -directed by Michael Mann - starred Al Pacino, now 85, as a detective in pursuit of a career criminal played by Robert De Niro, 82, and it has already emerged Leonardo DiCaprio, 51, and Adam Driver, 42, have reportedly been linked to the production of a follow up.

Christian, 51, has now appeared to confirm his involvement in the crime saga sequel during an interview with Jake Hamilton of Fox32 News.

Posting on social media, Jake wrote: "Christian Bale just told me: I'll be back in Chicago soon for HEAT 2!"
