United Kingdom, June 10 -- Charlie Sheen says his father Martin believed his son's Netflix documentary didn't "need" him.

The former Two And A Half Men actor has opened up about the making of the streaming platform's aka Charlie Sheen docuseries, which featured some prominent figures from his life, although his brother Emilio and their father Martin both declined to participate.

Charlie told The Hollywood Reporter: "Dad had such a specific reaction to it.

"He said, 'You don't need me. You don't need the me of today. You've got the really interesting, handsome me.

"'That's how I want to be in the doc.' "
