United Kingdom, Oct. 12 -- Ben Stiller admitted he "f***** up" as a dad to his and wife Christine Taylor's children.

The 59-year-old actor and the 54-year-old actress have a daughter called Ella, 23, and a son named Quinlin, 20, and Ben says splitting from Christine in 2017 - but reunited in 2020 - was one of the best things that could have happened to their family unit.

The star - who spoke about his complicated upbringing as the son of comedy duo Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, and how their success impacted him and his sister, Amy, who often stayed at home while the couple toured, in the documentary Stiller and Meara: Nothing Is Lost - explained to The Sunday Times newspaper: "It totally affected us.
