United Kingdom, April 24 -- Mark Bonnar has revealed he would be keen to return to the Assassin's Creed universe, expressing interest in reprising his role as Blackbeard in a future screen adaptation.

The Scottish actor originally portrayed the infamous pirate Edward 'Blackbeard' Thatch in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, delivering a performance through motion capture that remains one of the game's standout elements.

Speaking ahead of renewed interest in the franchise, Bonnar told the BBC: "I'd love to play Blackbeard [in a series], and I get really kind of jealous and annoyed whenever I see a pirate show."
