United Kingdom, Dec. 12 -- A new Star Wars role-playing game positioned as a spiritual successor to Knights of the Old Republic has been officially unveiled at The Game Awards 2025.
Titled Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, the single-player action-RPG is being developed by Arcanaut Studios, a newly formed team led by Casey Hudson - best known as the director of the original KOTOR and BioWare's Mass Effect trilogy.
The project is being made in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and is set during the final days of the Old Republic era, a period largely untouched by recent Star Wars games.
While not a direct sequel, Fate of the Old Republic clearly draws inspiration from KOTOR's legacy.
