United Kingdom, Oct. 3 -- A Halo: Combat Evolved remake is reportedly in the works.

According to YouTuber MrRebs, a reimagining of Bungie's classic 2001 shooter is in co-development at Halo Studios with Virtuos Studios's Abstraction in the Netherlands.

The supposed remake will reportedly use a hybrid engine similar to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which was developed by Virtuos.

The project is said to position Halo Studios as the lead developer, with Abstraction in a secondary support role rather than full ownership of the remake.

After MrRebs published his video on the matter, XboxEra corroborated the claim, and said they also have a source that told them a Halo: Combat Evolved remake is coming.
