United Kingdom, Sept. 30 -- Diablo 4 director Brent Gibson has reassured fans that Blizzard has no plans to abandon the game when Diablo 5 eventually arrives.

The announcement of Diablo 5 at BlizzCon 2026 left some players concerned about the future of Diablo 4, which launched in 2023 and is still receiving regular seasonal content.

However, Gibson says the fourth game will continue to be supported for as long as its community remains active.

Gibson told Icy Veins: "I have an analogy. If you're wearing a sign in the middle of Times Square saying, 'The end is nigh,' the end is not nigh. We have a lot coming. We have the Amazon class coming down the road. The train isn't stopping."
