Kenya, Sept. 18 -- Celebrated artist Size 8 shared her transformative journey to faith in a raw and revealing interview that's reverberating throughout Kenya's gospel community. Size 8 captivated audiences with her story of conversion and her harrowing encounters with a "spiritual husband", revealing the spiritual battles that preceded her rise to prominence as a preacher and musician.
The interview featured the 38-year-old Linet Munyali-better known as Size 8-recounting her path from secular stardom to spiritual awakening.
Born in 1987 to a family with deep roots in witchcraft, Size 8 revealed how generational curses manifested in her life through disturbing nightmares and demonic visitations. "I was born into a demonic background," she shared, explaining that her mother's Asian heritage intertwined with occult practices, influencing her early years.
These experiences, she said, fuelled her initial success in secular music with hits like "Shamba Boy" and "Moto," but they left her spiritually tormented.
Central to her testimony was the chilling admission of intimacy with a "spiritual husband", a "demonic entity" she described as invading her dreams and physical space.
"Before salvation, I used to sleep with a spiritual husband. It's a demon," Size 8 confessed, her voice steady but emotional.
She elaborated on recurring visions of mysterious male figures engaging in intimate acts, which she linked to family witchcraft. These encounters, she claimed, caused emotional distress and relational chaos, common in what she termed "generational bondage".
Fans and critics alike were stunned, with social media buzzing about the boldness of her disclosure.
The turning point came in 2013 during a profound night of surrender. Size 8 described waking to hooded figures encircling her bed, humming ominously, "uuuumh ummmh umhh," as if protesting her decision to accept Christ.
"I shouted 'Jesus!' and they vanished," she recounted, marking the moment she became born again.
This divine intervention propelled her to abandon secular tunes for gospel, debuting with the hit "Mateke" that same year. Her transition wasn't seamless; she attended Bible school in 2018 and was ordained as a preacher in 2021 at JCC Thika Church, supported by husband DJ Mo.
Size 8's born-again story isn't just personal; it's a call to others grappling with similar shadows. She emphasised prayer's power in intimacy, a theme from her 2023 talks that urges couples to invite God into their unions.
Her testimony has sparked mixed reactions: admirers praise her vulnerability for inspiring faith, while sceptics question the "spiritual husband" narrative as folklore.
Today, as a wife, mother of three, and activist for Jesus, Size 8 continues ministering through music and preaching. Her story underscores the gospel scene's evolving openness to raw testimonies, reminding listeners that redemption often follows the darkest valleys. As Kenya's Christian community reflects, Size 8's voice remains a symbol for optimism and unfiltered truth.
