The drivers and passengers were left perplexed by the rare showcase of public euphoria over what subsequently turned out to be a life-changing betting jackpot win, leaving them stuck for hours.According to eyewitnesses, the man, who was later identified as Temitope Adewale, 34, of the Mushin neighbourhood of Lagos, appeared out of nowhere shortly after noon with stacks of naira notes and stopped cars to inform everyone nearby that his life had finally changed. This caused many people to slow down or stop out of confusion and curiosity.

As irate commuters honked impatiently and others took out their phones to record videos of the wild celebration that swiftly went viral on social media, the situation, which lasted for almost twenty-five minutes before police officers showed up to clear the road, caused a major traffic jam that stretched several kilometres in both directions.
