Kenya, Aug. 12 -- People in Kisumu are still in shock after a bad accident on the Kisumu-Busia Highway. The accident took the lives of 26 passengers, and only one woman walked away unharmed. The woman, 32-year-old Ruth Achieng from Nyamasaria, believes her special protective ring from a well-known traditional healer named Dr. Bokko saved her life.
The terrible accident happened just after a bus from a popular transport company was speeding when it lost control near the Maseno junction. The bus went off the road, flipped over several times, and fell into a ditch. People nearby heard screams as the bus rolled, and traders rushed to help. "I got on the bus in Kisumu town, heading to Busia for my cousin's wedding," Achieng said in an interview on Sunday. "Everything was fine until we reached Maseno." To read more click here.
