Kenya, Aug. 26 -- Janet is my name. I'm a 33-year-old Nairobi-based educator. I had no idea that the man I dedicated my entire life to would hurt me so deeply. I prepared meals for him, prayed with him, and battled alongside him during our times of hardship for eight years. However, I nearly died of treachery at Kenyatta Hospital one rainy evening before I became ill.It all started when my spouse complained of chest problems and passed out in the house. I contacted the neighbours in a panic, and we hurried him to the hospital. I assumed that since I was his wife, I would be in charge of making choices about his care. My life fell apart, though, when the doctor asked me to certify his next of kin.
