
Kenya, Sept. 5 -- At 35, my life was a relentless loop of heartache. I was the woman men turned to in loneliness, only to abandon when they found someone "better." I poured out my heart, time, and love, receiving only broken promises and tears in return. Each December, visiting family upcountry, my aunts' whispers stung like knives.
