Kenya, Aug. 12 -- There was a shocking scene at the Embu Law Courts. A man accused of murdering a local businessman said he used witchcraft on the judge, which caused confusion and led to a sudden change in the court's decision.
The man, 41-year-old Simon Mugo from Runyenjes, was in court for the killing of a well-known trader in Kiritiri earlier this year. Many people in the courtroom heard Mugo say he was innocent, claiming that police officers had wrongfully placed him at the crime scene to protect one of their own.
The atmosphere in the courtroom was tense as the judge announced Mugo was guilty, even though his defense team pointed out many weaknesses in the evidence against him. At that moment, in front of surprised spectators, Mugo took something from his pocket, whispered unusual words, and blew a fine powder towards the judge's bench. To read more click here.
