Kenya, Sept. 22 -- Social media has been captivated by a video purportedly showing a priest in an intimate moment with a woman. The trending video shows the priest asking a congregant to remove her underwear and move behind closed doors. The priest video recorded while undressing the parishioner of her underwear now trending online.

The footage, which surfaced on TikTok in mid-September 2025, allegedly captures a priest in a church prayer room engaging in inappropriate behaviour with a female parishioner.

While the cleric's identity remains unconfirmed in reliable sources, the video has fuelled discussions about trust, accountability, and the sanctity of religious spaces. The video, first shared, shows the cleric, referred to as Father Joseph in local reports, interacting closely with a woman in what appears to be a church.

The footage allegedly depicts the priest taking the woman's undergarment before they move to a private room, prompting accusations of misconduct.

With over 1.5 million views, the clip has drawn sharp criticism from viewers who see it as a betrayal of spiritual authority. Social media reactions reflect a mix of anger and calls for reform. Users have expressed dismay, with one posting, "This is why people lose faith in the church. Leaders must be held accountable."

Others referenced past scandals, like a 2020 case in Kerala where a priest was suspended after intimate photos leaked online, highlighting recurring issues of clergy misconduct.

The incident has reignited debates about the Catholic Church's oversight of its clergy.

"Churches must enforce stricter accountability to prevent abuse of power," a community advocate said. The controversy also draws parallels to global incidents, such as a 2020 Louisiana case where a priest was caught filming explicit acts on a church altar.
