CANBERRA, ACT, Nov. 21 -- Murray-Darling Basin Authority issued the following news release:
The likelihood of water quality issues increases under warming conditions.
* Harmful algal blooms: Algae can pose a risk to the health of humans, animals and the environment.
Blue-green algae levels are currently elevated across much of the Basin's rivers and storages, including in the north-east, and central Southern connected Basin.
Water quality within the Basin is monitored by individual States. Any site-specific alerts, warnings or advisories are issued by those respective States.
