CANBERRA, ACT, July 24 -- Australian Federal Police issued the following media release:
A Perth man is due to reappear in Perth Magistrates Court today (24 July, 2026) charged over possessing dozens of images and videos allegedly containing child abuse material.
The man, 76, was charged after AFP executed a search warrant at a Westminster home on 30 June, 2026.
During the search warrant, investigators located an electronic tablet allegedly containing images, videos and animated GIFs of explicit child abuse material. AFP investigators seized the electronic device for further forensic analysis.
The man was charged with:
* One count of possessing child abuse material, contrary to section 474.22A of the Criminal Code (Cth); and* One count...
