CANBERRA, ACT, July 16 -- The Treasurer of Australia issued the following media release:
New ASIC numbers out this week show more new companies were registered in June than in any other month since these records first began in 1999.
43,393 new businesses were registered in June and 385,716 in 2025-26, both new highs.
This is the first time on record that more than 40,000 businesses were registered in a single month.
More businesses were created in the month after the Budget than in any other month on record.
New analysis shows more than 1.3million new businesses have been created since Labor came to office, another record for any 4year period.
