A Queensland man has been charged with allegedly making a threat to a federal parliamentarian.

The AFP charged the Mackay North man, 66, today (1 September, 2026) after an allegedly threatening voicemail message was left with the office of a federal parliamentarian.

The voicemail allegedly contained abusive language directed to the parliamentarian, their family and associates, and threats of serious violence.
