CANBERRA, ACT, Sept. 10 -- Australian Federal Police issued the following media release:
A Sydney man who allegedly tried to borrow bolt cutters from Sydney Airport staff to rob a charity donation bin in the arrival concourse is expected to face Downing Centre Local Court today (10 September, 2025).
The man, 54, came to the AFP's attention on 15 August, 2025, following a report of an individual trying to break into a donation bin at the arrival concourse.
It's alleged the man attempted to use bolter cutters to cut through a padlock securing a charity donation bin, believed to contain between $1000 to $7000.
