Tokyo, Sept. 16 -- India's Asian Championships silver medalist Sarvesh Kushare achieved a sixth-place finish in the final of the men's high jump event at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Tuesday.
Kushare etched his name in history at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo after becoming the first Indian high jumper to qualify for the final in the world meet on Sunday. Kushare earned a place in the 13-player final by sailing over the 2.25m mark to finish in the top 12 of the men's high jump qualification round.
Now during the finals, he produced a best attempt of 2.28 m, his personal best, producing it in his third attempt.
