New Delhi, April 23 -- Women continue to remain underrepresented in high-skill technology roles in India despite growing participation in the broader IT workforce, according to a new report by TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship and GAN Global.

The report highlights that while women account for 35-38 per cent of the overall IT workforce, there is still a 20-25 per cent gap in job readiness for specialised technical roles.

It further noted that India's technology sector could face a talent shortfall of over 1.8 million by 2027, as demand for skilled professionals continues to outpace supply.
