West Asia developments: India facilitates movement of 2490 Indian nationals out of Iran so far
New Delhi, May 2 -- Amid the evolving situation in West Asia, the Ministry of External Affairs continues its focused efforts on ensuring the safety, security and welfare of the Indian community in the region. It said that over 2400 Indians have been evacuated out of Iran via land borders.
Sharing an update on the developing situation in the region, the Ministry of External Affairs noted that while the Iran airspace is partially open for cargo and chartered flights, Indian nationals are advised to avoid travelling to Iran and those already there are urged to leave via land border routes, with the Indian Embassy's support.
