New Delhi, March 18 -- Roman Babushkin, Charge d'Affaires of the Russian Embassy in India, on Wednesday said Moscow shares New Delhi's approach to resolving the crisis involving Iran and supports dialogue as the path towards stabilising West Asia.

Speaking to the media, Roman Babushkin said Russia recognises the challenges India faces as the current chair of BRICS in bringing member states together to issue a joint position on the escalating conflict.

"We absolutely share the Indian approach on the situation in the Middle East," the Russian envoy said when asked about the ongoing war involving Iran.

He said Russia understands the difficulty of forging a consensus among BRICS members amid the rapidly evolving regional situation.
