Washington, Aug. 22 -- Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's 18-year-old daughter, Vivienne, has taken another formal step towards legally dropping "Pitt" from her surname, publishing a public notice in the Los Angeles Daily Journal as part of California's name-change process.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Vivienne published the notice once a week for four consecutive weeks, from July 24 through August 14. The notice asks anyone opposing her petition to submit a written opposition before the final hearing.

Vivienne's next court hearing is scheduled for November 2. A judge can approve the requested name change if no one objects.
