Dehradun, Aug. 25 -- Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday directed senior government officials to ensure effective control over the prices of essential commodities and their availability to the public at reasonable rates.

According to the Chief Minister's Office, the Chief Minister directed the Food and Civil Supplies Department and other concerned departments to regularly monitor the availability and prices of essential commodities in markets across the state.

He instructed officials to ensure that no artificial shortage of essential goods is created to charge consumers higher prices. He also directed them to keep a constant watch on demand and supply and take timely measures whenever required.
