Raipur, Oct. 21 -- Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Raksha Khadse chaired the opening ceremony of the inaugural Chhattisgarh Hockey League (CHL) at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday.

The occasion was attended by Arun Sao, Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh; Laxmi Verma, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha); and Sardar Singh, Olympian and former captain of the Indian hockey team, along with other dignitaries. The league marks an important step towards strengthening the hockey ecosystem in Chhattisgarh by providing emerging local players with a structured platform for competitive exposure and development, according to a release.
