New Delhi, Nov. 10 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the site of the blast near Gate 1 of Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday.

The explosion claimed eight lives before victims could reach the hospital, while seven others were injured, three of them in critical condition, a senior official at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital said.

Shah reached Lok Nayak Hospital in the national capital and visited those injured in the blast that occurred in a car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort in Delhi.

He also held a meeting with Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and other officials.
