UEFA, CONCACAF discuss Nations League merger
Nyon, Aug. 22 -- The football landscape could be up for a massive change as UEFA and CONCACAF are discussing the possibility of merging their respective Nations League tournaments, giving a chance to some of the best in Europe to compete against some of the best from North and Central America.
As per Goal.com, the tournament could launch as early as autumn 2028 in a revamped tiered format. This comes as there is tension within the global game due to the FIFA Forward Enterprise episode, which eyed private involvement and investment in FIFA tournaments, particularly the FIFA World Cup, but was withdrawn following heavy backlash from member associations.
