Damascus, Aug. 7 -- A minibus exploded in the city of Jaramana, southeast of Damascus, Syria, on Thursday (local time), killing two people and injuring 13 others after an explosive device planted inside the vehicle detonated during peak traffic hours.

Syrian authorities said the blast was caused by an explosive device concealed inside the minibus and confirmed that security forces had launched an investigation into the incident, Al Jazeera reported.

The explosion occurred on Al-Rawda Street, one of the busiest thoroughfares in central Jaramana, during rush hour.
