Bhopal, May 23 -- Major Harshit Sharma, the brother of Noida resident Twisha Sharma, called for a "fair investigation" into her death.

"The CBI should take up this as soon as possible. They should take charge of this case so that a fair investigation can begin,' he told reporters here, stressing the need for an independent investigation.

The CBI is investigating the case to ensure a fair probe.

The family of the deceased has been actively demanding an independent investigation.

Earlier, a Bhopal court on Saturday remanded Samarth Singh, the prime accused in the death of his wife Twisha Sharma, to seven days of police custody.
