New Delhi, March 13 -- A bill was introduced in Lok Sabha on Friday that seeks to give a precise definition for proper and definitive identification and protection of transgender persons to whom the benefits of Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 must reach.

Social and Justice Minister Virendra Kumar today introduced the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha. The Bill aims to amend the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019.
