Coimbatore, Oct. 1 -- Vithya Ramraj's three years of sustained training have finally borne fruit, with the Indian athlete returning from the Asian Games 2026 with a medal of each colour, including a gold in the women's 4x400m relay, her father said.

Vithya won three medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games -- gold in the women's 4x400m relay, silver in the mixed 4x400m relay and bronze in the women's 400m hurdles, where she also broke the 42-year-old national record of legendary athlete PT Usha.

"Vithya had continued her training for the past three years and had now won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal at an athletics competition in Japan, surpassing PT Usha's record," Vithya Ramraj's father told ANI on Wednesday.
