Taipei, June 9 -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has doubled its market capitalization over the past year to claim the ninth spot in the PwC Global Top 100 rankings. According to a news report by Focus Taiwan, the contract chipmaker recorded the fastest growth among the world's top ten entities.

The accounting and consulting firm's "2026 Global Top 100 Companies by Market Capitalization" report, released in May, showed that TSMC's market value surged 101 per cent year-on-year to reach USD 1.427 trillion as of March 31.
