Taipei, Aug. 24 -- Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence detected four sorties of Chinese military aircraft and five Chinese naval vessels operating around its territorial waters as of 6 am (local time) on Saturday.

In a post on X, the MND said, "4 sorties of PLA aircraft and 5 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and responded accordingly."

Earlier on Saturday, Taiwan's MND detected 22 sorties of Chinese military aircraft and five Chinese naval vessels. Of the 22 sorties, nine crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern and southwestern ADIZ.
