New Delhi, Oct. 6 -- The Supreme Court of India dismissed a special leave petition (SLP) filed by Dr. Matthew A. Kuzhalnadan, Congress MLA from Muvattupuzha, against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter, and Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd. (CMRL) on Monday.

Earlier, Dr Kuzhalnadan had approached the top court challenging the Kerala High Court's order, which upheld the dismissal of his criminal complaint, under Section 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Sections 120B and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

According to his complaint, he claimed that CMRL made payments to the Chief Minister's daughter and her company as a quid pro quo for favourable treatment from the state government.
